About Employment Law Aid
Free educational resources helping American workers understand their workplace rights.
Our Mission
Employment Law Aid exists to help workers understand their rights. Employment law is complex, varies by state, and changes frequently. Most employees don't know what protections they have until something goes wrong--and by then, critical deadlines may have passed.
We provide free, comprehensive guides on employment law topics ranging from wrongful termination and workplace discrimination to wage theft and workers' compensation. Our goal is to give you the knowledge you need to recognize when your rights have been violated and understand your options for recourse.
Our Editorial Standards
Every article on Employment Law Aid is researched from primary legal sources — statutes, agency regulations, and case law — and is reviewed by a licensed employment-law attorney before publication. We cite statutes by section number, link directly to the primary source whenever possible, and update articles when the law changes.
We do not summarize other blogs. When you see a statute referenced on this site, it has been pulled from the official state or federal source and verified by our editorial team and a reviewing attorney.

If you find an error — a misstated deadline, an out-of-date statute, a broken citation, or anything you believe is legally inaccurate — email [email protected]. We review every correction request within five business days. When we update an article based on a correction, the Last Updated date changes to reflect the revision.
